God

The concept of God is deeply connected to life. Some have criticised it, some have accepted it, most of us have ignored it, and very few people have followed it. God is being glorified by the same adjectives in different religions- omnipotent, omnipresent, formless, etc. In this blog, I will try to explain the real meaning of God.

Who/What is God?

As I mentioned earlier the whole universe is formed of Energy and Matter i.e. Shiva and Shakti. This whole universe is God. Now, it is up to your consciousness how are you going to associate with it- Who or What.

In Indian philosophy, this universe is termed as "Brahma". Adi Shankaracharya explains the term God as follows. The one who is not limited by anything is "Brahma". The one who is limited by panch mahabhut is "Ishwar". The ones who are limited by panch mahabhut and senses are humans. Panch Mahabhut are Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space. In conclusion, we all are one only, the only difference is that we are limited by these things. The one which limits us is "Maya". This is what the Indian philosophy mentions.

In conclusion, there is God as we and other beings are. However, the concept of God which is widely practiced is wrong due to a lack of knowledge.

Worship of God

Now, the question is when we and God are one then how can we worship? The answer is simple. As a human, we are limited by "Maya" and the duality between humans and God can easily be perceived. This duality is because of ignorance created by "Maya" and we cannot ignore this reality.  You are ignorant because you are not experiencing the oneness with the Ultimate but you have knowledge of this Universe. So, use this knowledge to experience the Ultimate- this is worship.

There are different modes of worship. Every mode is correct where you seek oneness with the Ultimate. Every human is unique- his perceptions, his mind (mann), etc. So, the way of worship is different.

Some questions

1. Is offering something to God correct?

As earlier mentioned, when you seek oneness with the Ultimate through any method is the worship of God. Offering sweets, milk, water, and even animal sacrifice. Even personification is a medium. But, remember worship is also "karma" which means what you offer and with what intention also matters. These things are going to replicate and will return in your life. These offerings are not the end in themselves, these are means to seek oneness with the ultimate. If anyone has different means then no need to offer such things. For example, if one practices Yoga, Bhakti and similar mediums there is no question of offering these material things.
The thing to keep in knowledge is that the offerings which you offer should be with intention to seek oneness or to experience oneness with the supreme.

2. Is to seek offerings from God correct?

It is completely wrong. You worship God with the knowledge that we are one only then how can you seek offerings from God. If you seek offerings from God, you create duality in your worship. This will not be worship, may be any other thing.
There is a duality between "bhakt" and "Brahma" till the time he is limited by "Maya". Our physical existence is limited by "Maya" but our knowledge is not. No doubt, our knowledge is very much influenced by "Mann" a subset of this "Maya". But, our "buddhi" element is capable enough to differentiate "Maya". Our worship is based on the knowledge that we are one, so duality should not be created at our mental plain. We worship to bring this mental plain into reality.
Similarly, if your offerings to God create duality, it is of no use.

Conclusion

In conclusion, God is not what we understand as a manager of the world. If you care about God, then God cares about you. The intensity of care will depend on your connection with God. The survival of the fittest is the law of this Universe. If you are not strong enough, then you will perish, no matter whether you are good or bad. This is the reality we need to understand. Because, in today's world people think we are subscribers of God then no wrong can happen to us and if any wrong happens they start questioning the service of God. This is not like this. Arjuna did not win because he was on the side of righteousness but Krishna was on his side. He earned Krishna's friendship through his deeds. This is the harsh reality of this world today that no person like Krishna is there. So, be strong enough to worship God.

Applicability of Probation of Offenders Act, 1958

The Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 is a reformative legislation which was enacted to reform convicts. There is one aspect of its applicability and that is this Act does not apply to the Statutes which are enacted later than this Act and mentions the minimum punishment. The Supreme Court in the case of  Superintendent, Central Excise v. Bahubali [i]   held that “ where there is a statute which bars the exercise of judicial discretion in matter of award of sentence, the Probation of Offenders Act will have no application or relevance. ” Later, the Supreme Court while giving more clarification on this issue held in the case of  State through S.P., New Delhi v. Ratan Lal Arora [ii]   that “  in cases where a specific enactment, enacted after the Probation Act prescribes a minimum sentence of imprisonment, the provisions of Probation Act cannot be invoked if the special Act contains any provision to enforce the same without reference to any other Act contain...

Justice

JUSTICE The foundation of the State is based on justice. The State (King) has a duty to ensure justice in society. The whole legal system is formed to ensure justice in society. In this blog, I will try to explain the meaning of the term "justice".   NYAYA The word "Nyaya" does not literally translate into Justice. If we read in the Nyaya Sutras of Mahrishi Gautam, we find that "Nyaya" means logic. It is the logic that helps us find the truth, serving as the connecting point or medium through which we discover it. However, in the legal system, justice is not solely about finding the truth. If it were, there would not be acquittals on the grounds of doubt. In our legal system, an accused person is acquitted if the prosecution cannot meet the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.  The correct meaning of the word "Justice" in our legal system would be "a balance of rights and interests of the members of the society". In one aspect, i...

The Life

Life is the most intriguing question in the mind of humans whether they are scientists or priests, intelligent or dumb, men or women, whoever they are- once in their life they would have come in a situation where they ask- What is life? The answer to this question makes the difference between these people.  What is life actually?  Regarding science, the difference between living and non-living organisms is biological processes. It describes life through different biological processes such as eating, drinking, excretion, reproduction, etc. The reason behind its existence is yet to be discovered. Where there is no direct knowledge, we make our hypothesis and then start working on it. Such a hypothesis can be termed as philosophy. The answer to this question lies in it.  What does philosophy say about life? The reason behind the existence of life is not specific. We generally associate it with "God". The concept of God is such that if you do not understand it well then it be...
